Making of Bulbul

Concept and Inspiration

During my ideation process for this piece, I conducted countless conversations and mostly listened to my nani—her pride, her daughter Bulbul, urf Archana Aggarwal.

Detailed Sketches

What begins as a quiet thought is slowly translated into lines, texture and meaning. Each detail is drawn with intention, carrying a story.

CAD Modelling

Once the initial idea is clear, designers create more refined drawings, often using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. CAD modeling allows for precise 3D visualisation, accurate measurements, and experimentation with proportions.

Material Selection

Bulbul features amalgamation of Coral, Zambian emeralds, Mozambique rubies, Polki and Diamonds.

Casting

Getting the tree ready for casting.
This is known as the casting process where the jewellery is brushed and buffed to remove any rough edges and come alive.

Stone Setting and Polishing

From shaping the metal to setting each stone by hand, every detail is crafted with patience, care and years of experience.

Final piece

It’s then beautifully packaged and ready to be worn and cherished.
